L’edificio è costituito da tre volumi residenziali che contengono cinque unità abitative, uniti da un volume vetrato che contiene i collegamenti verticali. La “complessità” dell’insieme è caratterizzata dalla somma di volumi semplici e precisi.
I piani interrati si affacciano su un patio ribassato e su rive verdi inclinate, gli ambienti a diretto contatto con l’esterno diventano luminosi, dall’interrato è possibile vedere il cielo.
L’accesso ai tre appartamenti superiori avviene direttamente al piano secondo dove sono collocati i piani giorno, da questi tramite scale interne si discende ai piani notte.
La struttura dei singoli volumi, reca implicita la possibilità di disporre i muri divisori secondo le necessità spaziali: la pianta, sciolta da vincoli statici, assume piena libertà. Sui lati corti, svincolato il muro dalla sua funzione portante, anche la facciata può essere trattata liberamente, senza preoccupazioni di carattere statico: le finestre possono quindi allargarsi a volontà a dare luce agli interni. Il tetto, non a spioventi e con il solo scopo di coprire il volume architettonico, diventa una terrazza fiorita, dove ci si può muovere e gustare l’esterno in un nuovo rapporto altimetrico, si recupera in alto lo spazio occupato dall’edificio.
The building is composed by three residential volumes accommodating five housing units connected by a glazed volume that includes the vertical connections. The “complexity” of the system results from the sum of simple and well-defined volumes.
The underground levels face onto a lower-level patio and two inclined green banks. The rooms with direct outside views are light-filled, so that from the underground one may glimpse the sky.
Access to the three top level apartments is gained directly from the second floor where the living areas are located, while the sleeping areas connected to these by stairs.
The structure of the individual volumes implicitly allows for the possibility of moving the partition walls according to the users’ needs: unencumbered by static restraints, the plan becomes totally free. On the short sides, the wall is equally unencumbered by its bearing function so that also the façade can be treated freely, with no static concern: the windows can thus become as wide as possible in order to flood the interiors with light. The roof is not sloping, it just covers the architectural volume so that it can become a terrace full of flowers where one can move around and enjoy the view from this vantage point. The space occupied by the building is thus exploited even height-wise.

La piscina è a servizio di una residenza costruita negli anni 1970-75.
Si colloca nella zona sud-est del giardino, così posizionata stabilisce una gerarchia degli spazi della proprietà, il setto che corre verso la residenza divide la zona di ingresso pedonale e carraio dalla zona di relazione.
L’architettura è priva di zoccolo, lo spazio a terra è delimitato da pietra locale ed è complanare al giardino, vi è continuità tra il verde e la parte costruita. Due lunghi setti ritmano gli spazi, non vi è contatto tra le diverse parti murarie che si incontrano solo tramite aperture tamponate da serramenti, due setti paralleli racchiudono a est una piccola scala che porta ai locali tecnici interrati. La vasca per il nuoto è racchiusa a sud e a ovest da pareti vetrate che si aprono a libro.
Sopra ai setti, è posata la trabeazione in acciaio, questa contiene nello stesso spessore la travatura secondaria e il manto di copertura in parte in lamiera di alluminio e in parte in vetro temperato e tirantato ad evitare inflessioni. La piccola copertura del vano scale è costituita da una lastra di vetro stratificato e temperato inserita nei setti murari.
All’interno sul soffitto, a mascherare gli impianti per il trattamento dell’aria, è posto una “tenda cannucciato “ in tubi di alluminio.
Il progetto è pensato, sia in pianta che in alzato, costruito su un multiplo di 25 cm.
The swimming pool serves a house built in 1970-1975.
It is located in the south-east part of the garden where it establishes a hierarchy of the property’s spaces, with the wall traced towards the house dividing the pedestrian and vehicle access from the living area.
The building has no skirting – the ground space, defined by local stone, is at the same level as the garden thus creating a continuous flow between green and built areas. Two long walls articulate the areas, there is no contact between the various masonry elements that only meet in coincidence with the openings. At the east two parallel walls enclose a small stair leading to the technical equipments in the basement. On the south and west the swimming pool is closed by glazed folding walls.
The walls support the steel entablature including the secondary beams and the roof surface made of aluminium plate and safety glass toughened with rods in order to avoid distortion. The stair is covered by a plate of layered safety glass recessed in the walls.
In the ceiling, the air treatment system is concealed by a “lathing curtain” made of aluminium tubes.
Both in plan and elevation, the design is conceived as a multiple of 25 cm.
